Kids Quad

Practice and training
for Kids
Since 2014, the 72 Heures de Pont-de-Vaux event has included an event aimed at under-16s: the Kids Quad.
With an average of forty participants, from 9 to 15 years old, divided into several categories, these teenagers race on a specially adapted circuit which uses part of the Mondial circuit but in a shorter form. The young drivers are classified by age group:
- Benjamins 9 / 10 years
- Minimes 11 / 12 years
- Cadets 13 / 15 years
The young age of the riders doesn’t make the racing any easier, quite the contrary: the competition is fierce. Each young rider comes to prove himself, before joining the Contest or the Mondial in the following years.
Depending on their age category, they ride machines whose cubic capacity is defined in the Federation’s regulations:
- From age 9: 90cc 2T maximum 150cc 4T maximum
- From age 12: 90cc 2T maximum 150cc 4T maximum
- From age 13: 125cc 2T maximum 250cc 4T maximum
- From age 15: 125cc 2T maximum 250cc 4T maximum
Continued partnership with Benjo Kellerman’s training school:
mini-academy for 9/15 year-old quad riders enrolled in Kids Quad.
As last year, our Dutch partner Benjo Kellerman, from Kellerman Quads Training, will be offering a “Kids Class” in the paddocks, called the “Youngster Quad & Sidecarcross Experience”, reserved for all young riders registered for the Kids Quad des 72Heures de Pont-de-Vaux, in parallel with the races. This initiative is perfectly in line with one of the AMPV’s missions, which is to focus on training young people.
Held on Thursdays, this unique course has been developed by Benjo Kellerman especially for under-15s. During this “Kids Class”, participants will follow a module devoted to the meaning of flag signals during races, respect between drivers on the track and safety.
