Becoming a commissioner
At motor sport events and races in particular, the presence of track marshals is not only an obligation, but a necessity. They are strategically positioned along the circuit to ensure the safety of drivers and spectators alike.
Equipped with warning flags, they inform drivers and crews of any event or accident likely to occur in the area they monitor. They also inform race management by radio in the event of an incident, and relay their instructions directly to the circuit.
The track marshals are volunteers affiliated/licensed by the French Motorcycling Federation who carry out their mission with passion, whatever the weather conditions (depending on the date: rain, wind, cold or heatwave), to guarantee the safety of riders and crews.
They also ensure that spectators respect the safety zones, with a mission of information and prevention.
